The aim of this study was to investigate the wavelength-dependency of chromotherapy effects on cutaneous Leishmaniasis parasite growth. Chromotherapy uses visible range radiations to improve healing; however, its effects on parasite are not well understood. <…

Hunger and food insecurity can be minimized by doubling crop yield without increasing cultivated land area and fertilizer applied. Since plant breeding has not genetically doubled photosynthesis per unit leaf area, an approach for doubling crop yield would be…

We present a new technique for estimating cell surface geometry. A dish supporting adherent cells is observed using oblique transillumination and rotated in the horizontal plane using a stepping motor. The stage rotation-dependent movements of the start and e…

This work aimed at the control of the production of protein and glucose-anabolic-enzyme (GAE) by Saccharomyces cerevisiae during the fermentation of a Nigerian rice, Oryza sativa variety “Igbimo”. The yeast was mutated with ethylmethyl sulphonat…

Correlation and heritability studies of quantitative traits are a pre-requisite for judicious selection for genetic improvement of complex characters of economic importance. The success of selection is governed by the degree to which the desired trait is tran…

The metaphysical features of the mechanism for the integration of the information underlying protein folding were studied by applying principles of system logic theory. We conclude that it is not possible to predict all protein three-dimensional structures fr…

Bioprocess scale-down simulators are used to investigate the phenomena occurring in industrial scale cultivations. The aim is to simulate the large-scale conditions, characterized by long mixing times introducing local gradients into the bioreactor, in labora…

A comparative molecular dynamics (MD) simulation study was performed on the p53 oncoprotein to investigate the effect of the Arg273His (R273H) mutation on the p53→DNA Binding Domain (DBD). The two p53 dimer structures of the wild-type and mutant Arg273His (R2…
