The Langmuir isotherms of 1-aminobutane in isohexane slurries showed increase in clay acidity with increase in concentration of mineral acid used to leach the clay as well as the temperature at which the clay was thermally activated prior to experimentation i…
Fawwaz H. Jumean, Mustafa I. Khamis, Ziad A. Sara, Mahmoud S. AbouRich
Hexavalent chromium removal from wastewater using sheep wool was investigated at several equilibration periods. The influence of contact time, pH, adsorbent dosage and initial concentration was investigated. Adsorption isotherms for long and short periods wer…
Sebastián Amaya-Roncancio, Daniel Humberto Linares, Hélio Anderson Duarte, Germán Lener, Karim Sapag
Density functional theory was employed to investigate the effect of the hydrogen in the adsorption and direct dissociation of CO on Fe (100) surface. The preadsorption of hydrogen with coverages of 0, 1/3 and 2/3 monolayer (ML) was used in the present investi…
Lina Odeh, Imad Odeh, Mustafa Khamis, Mahmoud Khatib, Mohannad Qurie, Ziad Shakhsher, Mutaz Qutob
A commercially available chelating polymer, polystyrene tris(2-aminoethyl)amine, was used for the removal of chromium from aqueous solution. The influence of pH, contact time, adsorbent dosage and initial Cr (VI) concentration on adsorption was studied. The o…
Oscar Allahdin, Michel Wartel, Joseph Mabingui, Abdel Boughriet
Adsorption properties of brick for the removal of divalent cations increased significantly after this material were pre-activated by HCl and subsequently impregnated with ferrihydrite. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscop…
Mohamed Erhayem, Fatima Al-Tohami, Ragwan Mohamed, Khadija Ahmida
The present work deals with the equilibrium adsorption of Hg(II) onto carbonized Rosmarinus officinalis leaves (ACROL) as a new adsorbent from aqueous solution and it has been investigated. ACROL samples were prepared by physical carbonization at 773 K for 1…
