Highly unsaturated fatty acids such as docosahexaenoic acid and linolenic acid are prone to oxidation with a resulting loss of bioactivity and generation of malodorous degradation compounds. Degradation proceeds by formation of the corresponding hydroperoxyl…

Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy is a widely used analytical technique for determining the different functional groups of a coal structure. This method, being able to reveal carbo-hydrogenated structures (aromatic and aliphatic) and heteroatomi…
Minori Isogawa, Satoshi Yoshida, Nobuyuki Shimozawa
Very long chain fatty acids (VLCFAs) are accumulated in cells and blood in patients with peroxisomal diseases, such as adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) and Zellwger Syndrome (ZS). The purpose of this study is to investigate usefulness of Fourier transform infrared…

The retention behavior and lipophilicity parameters of some antiphychotics were determined using reversed-phase thin layer chromatography. Quantitative structure-activity relationships studies have been performed to correlate the molecular characteristics of…
Elsadig H. K. Adam
A simple, precise, accurate and sensitive reverse phase high performance liquid chromatographic method for simultaneous estimation of lisinopril dihydrate and its degradation products occuring under different ICH prescribed stress conditions has been modified…
Liridon Berisha, Arsim Maloku, Eduard Andoni, Tahir Arbneshi
Copper hexacyanoferate film was prepared electrochemically on carbon paste electrode and was tested for detection of nitric (II) oxide in comparison with unmodified electrodes. Modified electrode could be operated under physiological conditions (pH 7.5, 0.1 M…
Angélica María Mazuera, Rubén Antonio Vargas
In the present work, novel blend polymer electrolyte membranes using poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), doped with hypophosphorous acid (H 3 PO 2 ) and reinforced with porous niobium oxide (Nb 2 O 5 ) microparticles in different compositions were prepared by the solu…
Percio Augusto Mardini Farias, Arnaldo Aguiar Castro
A stripping method for the determination of hypoxanthine in the presence of copper at the submicromolar concentration levels is described. The method is based on controlled adsorptive accumulation of hypoxanthine-copper at the thin-film mercury electrode foll…
