During the Folin Ciocalteu (F-C) micro-assay for the determination of phenolics in the presence of methanol, fine solids can form. In a previous paper, we hypothesized that the interference from alcohol on the F-C reaction can be minimized depending on the pa…

The effect of chronic ozone exposure to ischemia reperfusion (I/R) injury in isolated perfused rat hearts was previously demonstrated. The present study tested our hypothesis that chronic ozone exposure led to attenuation of polyamines in the heart, which may…

A method for measuring total mercury in human whole blood using Thermal Decomposi-tion-Amalgamation/ Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (TDA/AAS) was developed and applied to a study of women that were fish consumers. This method has a limit of detection of…

Cyclic voltammograms of reactive black5 (RB5) at different pHs in the range 1.0 - 13.0 on multiwall carbon nanotube modified glassy carbon electrode revealed the presence of one well-defined irreversible anodic peak around 975 mV in acidic and neutral pHs. Ad…

In inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) analysis, only a few options are available to deal with non-spectroscopic interferences. Considering that diluting the sample is impractical for traces analysis, other alternatives must be employed. Tra…

An alternative spectrophotometric method has been developed for total iron determination using flow injection analysis (FIA). The procedure is based on the coordination reaction between hydralazine and Fe2+ ions, which results in the formation of a purple com…
Xun Yao, Jingkai Zhang, Jianguo Li
In this paper, a novel chemiluminescence (CL) method for the determination of tramadol has been developed by combining the flow injection technique and its sensitizing effect on the weak CL reaction between sulfite and acidic KMnO4. A mechanism for the CL rea…

L-phenylalanine-derived polymerizable organogel, N’-octadecyl-Nα-(4-vinyl)-benzoyl-L-phenylalanineami- de (4) has been prepared according to the procedure described elsewhere. Compound 4 was successfully polymerized by surface initiated atom transfer radical…
Semra G. Tuncel, Tansel Topal
Present study aims the optimisation and validation of the extraction procedures for the determination of poly- cyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in sediment samples. As analytical techniques, gas chromatography- mass detector (GC-MS) and gas chromatography-…
