Abstract
In this paper, we present the study of band structure relativistically. Here, Dirac equation is formulated from Hamilto-nian in which the formulation is found to contain a correction term known as spin-orbit coupling given as that modifies the non-relativistic expression for the same formulation. This term leads to double spin-degeneracy within the first Brillioun zone which is a concept that is not found in other method of study of band structure of material.
