Property S[a,b]: A Direct Approach

Abstract
In this paper we prove directly that the property <i>S</i>[<i>α</i>,<i>b</i>] , implies[<i>α</i>,<i>b</i>) -compact, and under certain conditions it implies [<i>α</i>,<i>b</i>] -compact.
