EPE, a monthly journal, publishes research and review articles in all important aspects of electric power engineering and other professionals involved in the electric power industry. Both experimental and theoretical papers are acceptable provided they report important findings, novel insights, or useful techniques in…
Kezhen Liu, Ting Liu, Hongchun Shu, Jilai Yu
This paper focuses on the transient protection of transmission line with FACTS Devices; the principle and mathematical model of static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) has been analyzed. And feasible control strategy has been proposed considering the voltage…
Rui Min, Fei Xu, Fei Yuan, Zonghe Gao
This article introduces a FACTS coordinated control strategy with impedance/admittance measurement feedback. Then the effectiveness of this method is proved in mathematics with damp torque method. The control strategy effect is verified in a single machine in…
Xingfu Jin, Guobing Song
The control system of voltage source converter HVDC (VSC-HVDC) is complex and its fault tolerance ability is not sufficient, and correct rate of line protection device is not high. A novel pilot protection for VSC-HVDC transmission lines based on correlation…
Pinggang Song, Yunfeng Li, Lina Wang
This paper partitions the arm current of MMC into uncontrollable current and controllable current. The former is determined by the load that can’t be controlled by taking any control strategy. The later caused by the unbalanced total inserted voltage of three…
Zunfang Chu, Zixin Li, Ping Wang, Yaohua Li
In this paper, a novel voltage balancing method of modular multilevel converters (MMCs) is proposed. This method divides the voltages of sub-module capacitors in each arm into several groups and the voltage balancing is based on these groups. The proposed met…
P. Mestas, M.C. Tavares
This paper describes the statistical study of important factors that influences transient over voltages resulting from three-phase reclosing of shunt compensated transmission lines. These factors include the model used for transmission line representation and…
Shuwei Wan, Xingming Bian, Lan Chen, Liming Wang, Zhicheng Guan
As an efficient and advanced line inspection method, helicopter line patrol is gradually more and more used in transmission lines inspection, promoting the elaborate operation of transmission lines and reducing the management cost. However, as a 'floating-pot…
Zhiwen Cao, Yiming Zhang
Switch mode power supply (SMPS) is good selection for power supplies of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), which is one of the most important interference sources of UAV. The power switches with their high dv/dt and di/dt switching slopes are the sources of elect…
Rodrigo Cleber da Silva, Sérgio Kurokawa
This paper shows the development of transmission line model, based on lumped element circuit that provide s answers directly in the time and phase domain. This model is valid to represent the ideally transposed line, the phases of each of the small line segme…
Xiao Han, Yinghui Gao, Yaohong Sun, Ping Yan
In this paper, a mathematical analysis of the EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) for a 20 kHz/10 kV capacitor charging power supply in frequency-domain is presented, and a related circuit model considering the transient switching interference is proposed. Due…

EPE, a monthly journal, publishes research and review articles in all important aspects of electric power engineering and other professionals involved in the electric power industry. Both experimental and theoretical papers are acceptable provided they report important findings, novel insights, or useful techniques in… All articles are open access under a CC BY 4.0 licence, with authors retaining copyright.
Authors submit their manuscript, metadata, and declarations through the portal. There is no submission fee.
The editorial office screens the manuscript for scope, completeness, and formatting before assigning a handling editor.
At least two independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript under single-blind review. Where revisions are required, authors respond point by point.
On acceptance the article processing charge is invoiced and the CC BY 4.0 copyright handover is signed.
The article is copyedited, typeset, and given a DOI, then publishes open access with a permanent link.
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Submit in Microsoft Word or LaTeX with figures at 300 dpi minimum. Structure research articles as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
Use the journal's numbered (Vancouver) reference style. Cite sources consecutively in the order they appear, and ensure every reference is complete and retrievable.
Declare all funding sources, conflicts of interest, and ethical approvals (including informed consent and animal-care statements where applicable).
