Abstract
Toluene inhalation can result in electrolyte and acid-base derangements and should be considered in the differential diagnosis of young patients with unexplained hypokalaemia and normal anion gap metabolic acidosis. This case serves to illustrate the abnormalities and heighten awareness among emergency physicians who may not have laboratory re sults on hand when evaluating causes of limb weakness.
