The overarching impact of digital literacy is burgeoning. Moreover, the increase in dependency on information and communication technology (ICT) has become ubiquitous. Organizations of all types are in need of talented individuals who can navigate the complexity of the digital world. Although past studies have covered the impact of digital literacy on other areas, little is known about how digital knowledge in hierarchy can facilitate employees’ ambidextrous learning (e.g., employee explorative and exploitative learning), and how coordination and non-routine tasks can mediate the effectiveness of digital literacy on ambidextrous learning. Using data gathered from 200 employees from various kinds of organizations and companies in Vietnam, we examined how digital literacy plays a significant role in ambidextrous learning. The result supports the link between coordination and exploitative learning, and digital literacy to non-routine to explorative learning.
