In this paper, we present a novel and efficient method for the design of a sharp, two dimensional (2D) wideband, circularly symmetric, FIR filter. First of all, a sharp one dimensional (1D) infinite precision FIR filter is designed using the Frequency Respons…

Multi-components sinusoidal engineering signals who are non-stationary signals were considered in this study since their separation and segmentations are of great interests in many engineering fields. In most cases, the segmentation of non-stationary or multi…

In this paper, a new approach for the design of non-uniform frequency spacing filter bank using Simulated Annealing has been presented. The filter bank structure is obtained by merging the relevant bands of a uniformly shifted filter bank with integer samplin…

Almost estimators are designed for the white observation noise. In the estimation problems, rather than the white observation noise, there might be actual cases where the observation noise is modeled by the colored noise process. This paper examines to design…

In software defined radio (SDR), sharp filters of different bandwidth are required to fine tune the desired channel. This requires different computational resources and large number of filter coefficients. This paper proposes a continuously variable bandwidth…

In this paper, we derive a new method for estimating the parameters of the K-distribution when a limited number of samples are available. The method is based on an approximation of the Bessel function of the second kind that reduces the complexity of the esti…

This paper presents the design of Optimal Infinite-Impulse Response (IIR) digital filters using Genetic Algorithm (GA). IIR filter is essentially a digital filter with Recursive responses. Since the error surface of digital IIR filters is generally nonlinear…
Ryota Yokote, Yasuo Matsuyama
A class of rapid algorithms for independent component analysis (ICA) is presented. This method utilizes multi-step past information with respect to an existing fixed-point style for increasing the non-Gaussianity. This can be viewed as the addition of a varia…

This paper presents an intra-modal fusion environment to integrate multiple raw palm images at low level. Fusion of palmprint instances is performed by wavelet transform and decomposition. To capture the palm characteristics, the fused image is convolved with…

SVD and FFT are both the efficient tools for image analysis and face recognition. In this paper, we first study the role of SVD and FFT in both filed. Then the decomposition information from SVD and FFT are compared. Next, a new viewpoint that the singular va…

Authors submit their manuscript, metadata, and declarations through the portal. There is no submission fee.
The editorial office screens the manuscript for scope, completeness, and formatting before assigning a handling editor.
At least two independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript under single-blind review. Where revisions are required, authors respond point by point.
On acceptance the article processing charge is invoiced and the CC BY 4.0 copyright handover is signed.
The article is copyedited, typeset, and given a DOI, then publishes open access with a permanent link.
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Submit in Microsoft Word or LaTeX with figures at 300 dpi minimum. Structure research articles as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
Use the journal's numbered (Vancouver) reference style. Cite sources consecutively in the order they appear, and ensure every reference is complete and retrievable.
