Abstract
This paper deals a study concerning the synthesis and catalytic application of a series of SO42-/MCM-41 catalysts with different SO42-/Si ratios, in the catalytic esterification of oleic acid, aiming biofuels production. The catalysts were characterized by XRD and FT-IR. The catalytic tests were carried out in a batch reactor and the obtained results showed good catalytic activity with high degrees of conversions of oleic acid.
