There are little-noticed points in the plane, which are artifacts of linear regression. The points, which are called pivot points, are the intersections of sets of regression lines. We derive the coordinates of the pivot point and explain its sources. We show…

In this paper, we introduce a modification of the Quasi Lindley distribution which has various advantageous properties for the lifetime data. Several fundamental structural properties of the distribution are explored. Its density function can be left-skewed,…

The assumption of stationarity is too restrictive especially for long time series. This paper studies the change point problem through a change point estimator based on the φ -divergence which provides a rich set of distance like measures between pairs of…

Based on the panel vector autoregressive model (PVAR) and the panel data of China’s 31 provinces from 2010 to 2019, this paper conducts a quantitative analysis on the dynamic balance relationship between China’s express business volume and economic developmen…

In this article, our proposed kernel estimator, named as Gumbel kernel, which broadened the class of non-negative, asymmetric kernel density estimators. Such kernel estimator can be used in nonparametric estimation of the probability density function ( pdf ).…

In this paper, we propose a Gasser-Müller type spot volatility estimator (abbreviated as GM type estimator) for diffusion process, which is weighted by integrals, it is different from the kernel spot volatility estimator discussed by Kristensen (2010). Under…

Influential observation is one which either individually or together with several other observations has a demonstrably large impact on the values of various estimates of regression coefficient. It has been suggested by some authors that multicollinearity sho…

As a subfield of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) aims to understand the structure of the data and fit it into models, which later can be used in unseen data to achieve the desired task. ML has been widely used in various sectors such as in…

Objective : Since the identification of COVID-19 in December 2019 as a pandemic, over 4500 research papers were published with the term “COVID-19” contained in its title. Many of these reports on the COVID-19 pandemic suggested that the coronavirus was associ…

We consider the efficacy of a proposed linear-dimension-reduction method to potentially increase the powers of five hypothesis tests for the difference of two high-dimensional multivariate-normal population-mean vectors with the assumption of homoscedastic co…
