Open Journal of Statistics (OJS) is an international journal dedicated to the latest advancements in statistics. The goal of this journal is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in different areas of statistics. All…

The study focuses on the imputation for the longitudinal survey data which often has nonignorable nonrespondents. Local linear regression is used to impute the missing values and then the estimation of the time-dependent finite populations means. The asymptot…
I. S. Iwueze, E. C. Nwogu, V. U. Nlebedim, J. C. Imoh
This paper discusses comparison of two time series decomposition methods: The Least Squares Estimation (LSE) and Buys-Ballot Estimation (BBE) methods. As noted by Iwueze and Nwogu (2014), there exists a research gap for the choice of appropriate model for dec…

The prevalence of a disease in a population is defined as the proportion of people who are infected. Selection bias in disease prevalence estimates occurs if non-participation in testing is correlated with disease status. Missing data are commonly encountered…
Mukund Parasharam Gadre, Vikas Chintaman Kakade
In this article, we propose two control charts namely, the “Multivariate Group Runs’ (MV-GR-M)” and the “Multivariate Modified Group Runs’ (MV-MGR-M)” control charts, based on the multivariate normal processes, for monitoring the process mean vector. Methods…

In this paper, auxiliary information is used to determine an estimator of finite population total using nonparametric regression under stratified random sampling. To achieve this, a model-based approach is adopted by making use of the local polynomial regress…
Nagarajah Varathan, Pushpakanthie Wijekoon, 1 1
In this article, the restricted almost unbiased ridge logistic estimator (RAURLE) is proposed to estimate the parameter in a logistic regression model with exact linear re-strictions when there exists multicollinearity among explanatory variables. The perform…

Forecasting the movement of stock market is a long-time attractive topic. This paper implements different statistical learning models to predict the movement of S&P 500 index. The S&P 500 index is influenced by other important financial indexes across the wor…
Michael Brimacombe
The likelihood function plays a central role in statistical analysis in relation to information, from both frequentist and Bayesian perspectives. In large samples several new properties of the likelihood in relation to information are developed here. The Arro…

A modification of ranked set sampling (RSS) called maximum ranked set sampling with unequal sample (MRSSU) is considered for the Bayesian estimation of scale parameter α of the Weibull distribution. Under this method, we use Linex loss function, conjugate and…
Todd Christopher Headrick
This note derives the relationship between the Pearson product-moment coefficient of correlation and the Spearman rank-based coefficient of correlation for the bivariate normal distribution. This new derivation shows the relationship between the two correlati…

The goal of this journal is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in different areas of statistics. All… All articles are open access under a CC BY 4.0 licence, with authors retaining copyright.
Authors submit their manuscript, metadata, and declarations through the portal. There is no submission fee.
The editorial office screens the manuscript for scope, completeness, and formatting before assigning a handling editor.
At least two independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript under single-blind review. Where revisions are required, authors respond point by point.
On acceptance the article processing charge is invoiced and the CC BY 4.0 copyright handover is signed.
The article is copyedited, typeset, and given a DOI, then publishes open access with a permanent link.
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Submit in Microsoft Word or LaTeX with figures at 300 dpi minimum. Structure research articles as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
Use the journal's numbered (Vancouver) reference style. Cite sources consecutively in the order they appear, and ensure every reference is complete and retrievable.
