Open Journal of Statistics (OJS) is an international journal dedicated to the latest advancements in statistics. The goal of this journal is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in different areas of statistics. All…

For square contingency tables with ordered categories, the present paper gives several theorems that the symmetry model holds if and only if the generalized linear diagonals-parameter symmetry model for cell probabilities and for cumulative probabilities and…
Jan Peter Hessling
Complete prior statistical information is currently required in the majority of statistical evaluations of complex models. The principle of maximum entropy is often utilized in this context to fill in the missing pieces of available information and is normall…
Huiyu Huang, Tae-Hwy Lee
When the observed price process is the true underlying price process plus microstructure noise, it is known that realized volatility (RV) estimates will be overwhelmed by the noise when the sampling frequency approaches infinity. Therefore, it may be optimal…
Jochen Hardt, Max Herke, Tamara Brian, Wilfried Laubach
Currently, a growing number of programs become available in statistical software for multiple imputation of missing values. Among others, two algorithms are mainly implemented: Expectation Maximization (EM) and Multiple Imputation by Chained Equations (MICE).…

For characterization of negative exponential distribution one needs any arbitrary non-constant function only in place of approaches such as identical distributions, absolute continuity, constant regression of order statistics, continuity and linear regression…

Until recently, computational power was insufficient to diagonalize atmospheric datasets of order 10 8 - 10 9 elements. Eigenanalysis of tens of thousands of variables now can achieve massive data compression for spatial fields with strong correlation propert…
Mathias Bourel, Badih Ghattas
Density estimation methods based on aggregating several estimators are described and compared over several simulation models. We show that aggregation gives rise in general to better estimators than simple methods like histograms or kernel density estimators.…
Ana M. Aguilera, Manuel Escabias, Mariano J. Valderrama, M. Carmen Aguilera-Morillo
The objective of this paper is to present a review of different calibration and classification methods for functional data in the context of chemometric applications. In chemometric, it is usual to measure certain parameters in terms of a set of spectrometric…
Yoshitsugu Kitazawa
This paper proposes some additional moment conditions for the linear feedback model with explanatory variables being predetermined, which is proposed by [1] for the purpose of dealing with count panel data. The newly proposed moment conditions include those a…
Dawud Adebayo Agunbiade, Peter I. Ogunyinka
While an auxiliary information in double sampling increases the precision of an estimate and solves the problem of bias caused by non-response in sample survey, the question is that, does the level of correlation between the auxiliary information x and the st…

All… All articles are open access under a CC BY 4.0 licence, with authors retaining copyright.
Authors submit their manuscript, metadata, and declarations through the portal. There is no submission fee.
The editorial office screens the manuscript for scope, completeness, and formatting before assigning a handling editor.
At least two independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript under single-blind review. Where revisions are required, authors respond point by point.
On acceptance the article processing charge is invoiced and the CC BY 4.0 copyright handover is signed.
The article is copyedited, typeset, and given a DOI, then publishes open access with a permanent link.
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Submit in Microsoft Word or LaTeX with figures at 300 dpi minimum. Structure research articles as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
Use the journal's numbered (Vancouver) reference style. Cite sources consecutively in the order they appear, and ensure every reference is complete and retrievable.
