The World Journal of Mechanics (WJM) will cover the general field of mechanics including the mechanics of solids, structures and fluids and their interaction. The goal of this journal is to provide an international forum for the publication and dissemination of original work which contributes to the understanding of t…

A centrifugal pump used as a hydraulic turbine in producing power for a microhydropower system is multifaceted. Centrifugal pumps are far more ubiquitous than turbines in the turbomachinery market, therefore being more readily available to the consumer. Addit…

In the present work, the collinear equilibrium points of the restricted three-body problem are studied under the effect of oblateness of the bigger primary using an analytical and numerical approach. The periodic orbits around these points are investigated fo…

Drag across a golf ball can affect distance traveled when hitting a ball. An average golf ball will have a drag coefficient of, 0.24 < C D < 0.7, in a Reynolds number range of 30,000 < Re D < 108,000. This paper investigates the effect of dimple patterns on t…

A loose rod of mass m1 and length l leans against one of the faces of a cube of mass m 2 and side length a . The assembly is placed on a horizontal table with one end of the rod touching the table and its other end leaning against the edge of the cube. We set…

The reactivation of pre-existing faults is a common phenomenon in a basin. This paper discusses the relationship between the pre-existing faults and the newly formed Coulomb shear fractures regarding pore fluid pressures. Based on the Coulomb fracture criteri…

We present a method for identifying the flexural rigidity and external loads acting on a beam using the finite-element method. We used mixed beam elements possessing transverse deflection and the bending moment as the primary degrees of freedom. The first ste…

This work deals with the numerical solution of the gravitational waves effects on the orbital elements of the planets in case of commensurability between the wave’s frequency n g and the planet’s mean motion n p . Taking Mercury and Pluto as practical example…

Authors submit their manuscript, metadata, and declarations through the portal. There is no submission fee.
The editorial office screens the manuscript for scope, completeness, and formatting before assigning a handling editor.
At least two independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript under single-blind review. Where revisions are required, authors respond point by point.
On acceptance the article processing charge is invoiced and the CC BY 4.0 copyright handover is signed.
The article is copyedited, typeset, and given a DOI, then publishes open access with a permanent link.
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Submit in Microsoft Word or LaTeX with figures at 300 dpi minimum. Structure research articles as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
Use the journal's numbered (Vancouver) reference style. Cite sources consecutively in the order they appear, and ensure every reference is complete and retrievable.
