American Journal of Operations Research (AJOR) is an international scientific journal dedicated to the publication and public discussion of high quality, original papers that contribute to the methodology of operational research and to the practice of decision making. AJOR contains the following types of papers: (1)In…
Nathan Betts, Francis J. Vasko
Recently, Yadaiah and Haragopal published in the American Journal of Operations Research a new approach to solving the unbalanced assignment problem. They also provide a numerical example which they solve with their approach and get a cost of 1550 which they…
Xiaohong Zhang, Jianchao Zeng, 1 1, 1 1
In the optimal maintenance modeling, all possible maintenance activities and their corresponding probabilities play a key role in modeling. For a system with multiple non-identical units, its maintenance requirements are very complicated, and it is time-consu…

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to discuss how the Six Sigma (SS) methodology can be used to improve the performance of students in English as a second language and enhance the teaching process by utilizing quality tools in an educational environment. D…
Renduchintala Raghavendra Kumar Sharma, Ankita Malviya, Vimal Kumar, Vinay Singh, Pritee Agarwal
In the past, researchers have applied Bender’s decomposition to distribution problem and used feasibility constraint to speed up the performance of Bender’s decomposition. Further, the application of Branch and Bound to single-stage multi-commodity single-per…
Mollah Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Aminur Rahman Khan, Faruque Ahmed, Md. Sharif Uddin, 1 1, 1 1
Industries require planning in transporting their products from production centres to the users end with minimal transporting cost to maximize profit. This process is known as Transportation Problem which is used to analyze and minimize transportation cost. T…
Gurudeo Anand Tularam, Tareq Saeed, 1 1
Time-series-based forecasting is essential to determine how past events affect future events. This paper compares the performance accuracy of different time-series models for oil prices. Three types of univariate models are discussed: the exponential smoothin…

In this paper we consider modeling techniques for the mathematical puzzle KenKen. It is an interesting puzzle from modeling point of view since it has different kind of mathematical restrictions that are not trivial to express as linear constraints. We give a…
Hongyun Wang, Hong Zhou
We study the problem of detecting a target that moves between a hiding area and an operating area over multiple fixed routes. The research is carried out with one or more cookie-cutter sensors with stochastic intermission, which turn on and off stochastically…
Sujuan Wang, Fangfang Liu
This paper studies firms’ innovation behavior in a supply chain where two firms first invest to reduce component’ cost according to different innovation modes (non-cooperative innovation, sequential innovation, and cooperative innovation) and then decide the…
Tarek A. Khalil, Yashpal Singh Raghav, N. Badra
The study deals with the multi-choice mathematical programming problem, where the right hand side of the constraints is multi-choice in nature. However, the problem of multi-choice linear programming cannot be solved directly by standard linear or nonlinear p…

AJOR contains the following types of papers: (1)In… All articles are open access under a CC BY 4.0 licence, with authors retaining copyright.
Authors submit their manuscript, metadata, and declarations through the portal. There is no submission fee.
The editorial office screens the manuscript for scope, completeness, and formatting before assigning a handling editor.
At least two independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript under single-blind review. Where revisions are required, authors respond point by point.
On acceptance the article processing charge is invoiced and the CC BY 4.0 copyright handover is signed.
The article is copyedited, typeset, and given a DOI, then publishes open access with a permanent link.
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Submit in Microsoft Word or LaTeX with figures at 300 dpi minimum. Structure research articles as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
Use the journal's numbered (Vancouver) reference style. Cite sources consecutively in the order they appear, and ensure every reference is complete and retrievable.
