American Journal of Operations Research (AJOR) is an international scientific journal dedicated to the publication and public discussion of high quality, original papers that contribute to the methodology of operational research and to the practice of decision making. AJOR contains the following types of papers: (1)In…
Marta Kostrzewska, Leslaw Socha
In this paper, two new sandwich algorithms for the convex curve approximation are introduced. The proofs of the linear convergence property of the first method and the quadratic convergence property of the second method are given. The methods are applied to a…

This research presents an approach to solving the limited re-sequencing problem for a JIT system when two objectives are considered for multiple processes. One objective is to minimize the number of setups; the other is to minimize the material usage rate [1]…

This paper concentrates on methods for comparing activity units found relatively efficient by data envelopment analysis (DEA). The use of the basic DEA models does not provide direct information regarding the performance of such units. The paper provides a sy…
Zhiqing Meng, Rui Shen, Min Jiang
By using the penalty function method with objective parameters, the paper presents an interactive algorithm to solve the inequality constrained multi-objective programming (MP). The MP is transformed into a single objective optimal problem (SOOP) with inequal…

Software projects generally have to deal with producing and managing large and complex software products. As the functionality of computer operations become more essential and yet more critical, there is a great need for the development of modular software sy…

Optimal adjustment algorithm for <i>p</i> coordinates is a generalization of the optimal pair adjustment algorithm for linear programming, which in turn is based on von Neumann’s algorithm. Its main advantages are simplicity and quick progress in the early it…
Patrick R. McMullen
This research presents a problem relevant to production scheduling for mixed models – production schedules that contain several unique items, but each unique item may have multiple units that require processing. The presented research details a variant of thi…

This paper presents a new method of detecting multi-periodicities in a seasonal time series. Conventional methods such as the average power spectrum or the autocorrelation function plot have been used in detecting multiple periodicities. However, there are nu…

We view a facility system as a kind of supply chain and model it as a connected graph in which the nodes represent suppliers, distribution centers or customers and the edges represent the paths of goods or information. The efficiency, and hence the reliabilit…

The global liberalization of energy market and the evolving carbon policy have profound implication on a producer’s optimal generator portfolio problem. On one hand, the daily operational flexibility from a well- composed generator portfolio enables the produ…

Authors submit their manuscript, metadata, and declarations through the portal. There is no submission fee.
The editorial office screens the manuscript for scope, completeness, and formatting before assigning a handling editor.
At least two independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript under single-blind review. Where revisions are required, authors respond point by point.
On acceptance the article processing charge is invoiced and the CC BY 4.0 copyright handover is signed.
The article is copyedited, typeset, and given a DOI, then publishes open access with a permanent link.
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Submit in Microsoft Word or LaTeX with figures at 300 dpi minimum. Structure research articles as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
Use the journal's numbered (Vancouver) reference style. Cite sources consecutively in the order they appear, and ensure every reference is complete and retrievable.
