This paper explores US entrepreneurial history and public budgets from President Eisenhower’s election in 1952 until the beginning of the Obama administration 2008. A mix of market forces, structural changes and a tendency toward unfettered capitalism [1] cha…

In preceding papers, the present authors proposed the application of the mollification based on wavelets to the calculation of the fractional derivative (fD) or the derivative of a function involving noise. We study here the application of that method to the…

As has been observed by Morse [1], any generic vector field v on a compact smooth manifold X with boundary gives rise to a stratification of the boundary by compact submanifolds , where . Our main observation is that this stratification re-flects the stratifi…

This paper presents closed-form expressions for the series, , where the sum is from n = 1 to n = ∞. These expressions were obtained by recasting the series in a different form, followed by the use of certain relationships involving the elliptical nome. Among…

From the lifecycle of schistosome, the phenomenon of time delay is widespread. In this paper, a two-dimensional system is studied that incorporates two time delays which are the incubation period of human and snail, respectively. Our purpose is to demonstrate…

This paper investigates several competing procedures for computing the prices of vanilla European options, such as puts, calls and binaries, in which the underlying model has a characteristic function that is known in semi-closed form. The algorithms investig…

In this paper we consider operators with endpoint singularities generated by linear fractional Carleman shift in weighted H ö lder spaces. Such operators play an important role in the study of algebras generated by the operators of singular integration a…

There has been a growing interest in screening programs designed to detect chronic progressive cancers in the asymptomatic stage, with the expectation that early detection will result in a better prognosis. One key element of early detection programs is a scr…

In this paper, we present a new algorithm of the time-dependent shortest path problem with time windows. Give a directed graph , where V is a set of nodes, E is a set of edges with a non-negative transit-time function . For each node , a time window within wh…

As is well known, coherence does not distinguish the relative phase of a pair of real, sinusoidal time series; the coherence between them is always unity. This behavior can limit the applicability of coherence analysis in the special case where the time serie…
