In this paper, we are going to present a class of nonlinear equation solving methods. Steffensen’s method is a simple method for solving a nonlinear equation. By using Steffensen’s method and by combining this method with it, we obtain a new method. It can be…

In this work, we analyze an eco-epidemiological model with the disease in the prey, considering a constant proportion of harvesting of either species or a prey refuge. The positive invariant set, the conditions of existence, and locally asymptotically stabili…

We analyze a problem of elastic collisions between elements of a system composed of two balls and a wall. Thanks to a change of variables, the problem is reduced to a sequence of reflections and rotations. Moreover, the total number of collisions is easily fo…

The saving of non-renewable energies, as well as the reduction of emissions into the environment, are two crucial objectives of industrial production. The recovery of post-consumer products associated with the use of end-of-life products is part of a context…

The error distribution testing plays an important role in linear regression as distribution misspecification seriously affects the validity and efficiency of regression analysis. The least squares (OLS) residuals are often used to construct test statistics; i…

This paper reports the global asymptotic stability of a three-species predator-prey system involving the prey-taxis. With the assumptions, we establish the global asymptotic stability results of its equilibria, respectively. Our results illustrate that 1) the…

In this paper, we consider operators arising in the modeling of renewable systems with elements that can be in different states. These operators are functional operators with non-Carlemann shifts and they act in Holder spaces with weight. The main attention w…

A great discovery made by H. von Foerster, P. M. Mora and L. W. Amiot was published in a 1960 issue of “Science”. The authors showed that existing data for calculating the Earth’s population in the new era (from 1 to 1958) could be described with incredibly h…

In this paper, we establish properties for the switch-when-safe mean-variance strategies in the context of a Black-Scholes market model with stochastic volatility processes driven by a continuous-time Markov chain with a finite number of states. More precisel…

Nonparametric and parametric subset selection procedures are used in the analysis of state homicide rates (SHRs), for the year 2005 and years 2014-2020, to identify subsets of states that contain the “best” (lowest SHR) and “worst” (highest SHR) rates with a…
