The dissolved gas analysis (DGA) is an effective method for detecting incipient faults in immersed oil power transformers. In this paper, we investigate the DGA methods and employ the ANSI/IEEE C57.104 standards (guidelines for the interpretation of gases gen…

A mathematical analysis is investigated to obtain an analytic solution of magneto hydrodynamic stagnation-point flow towards permeable stretching surface with viscous dissipation and joule heating. In the presence of uniform suction, a transverse magnetic fie…

Two-phase fluid properties such as entropy, internal energy, and heat capacity are given by thermodynamically defined fit functions. Each fit function is expressed as a temperature function in terms of a power series expansion about the critical point. The le…

In this paper, a single product, multi-period, aggregate production planning problem is formulated as a linear-quadratic Gaussian (LQG) optimal control model with chance constraints on state and control variables. Such formulation is based on a classical prod…

We modeled binary count data with categorical predictors, using logistic regression to develop a statistical method. We found that ANOVA-type analyses often performed unsatisfactorily, even when using different transformations. The logistic transformation of…

This paper investigates experimentally the deformation characteristics of the mono strand anchor head used in prestressed concrete bridge. Since the strains measurable in the anchor head are the axial and hoop strains, the deformation characteristics of the a…

Cheongpyeong Dam was built in 1943 for the purpose of power generation. Since its construction, discharge flow data based on a theoretical formula have been used to the present times and this leads to a problem of accurate discharge flow information not being…

Tigris and Euphrates are the main rivers in Iraq. The former has 5 main tributaries while the latter has no tributaries within Iraq. All these rivers exhibit meandering and/or shifting of their courses due to many reasons; such as mass movements and alluvial…

This paper presents two systems for recognizing static signs (digits) from American Sign Language (ASL). These systems avoid the use color marks, or gloves, using instead, low-pass and high-pass filters in space and frequency domains, and color space transfor…
