EPE, a monthly journal, publishes research and review articles in all important aspects of electric power engineering and other professionals involved in the electric power industry. Both experimental and theoretical papers are acceptable provided they report important findings, novel insights, or useful techniques in…
D. Benazzouz, S. Benammar, S. Adjerid
The real-time fault diagnosis system is very important for steam turbine generator set due serious fault results in a reduced amount of electricity supply in power plant. A novel real-time fault diagnosis system is proposed by using Levenberg-Marquardt algori…
Nematollah Dehghani, Rahman Dashti
In this paper, a simple method for placing an optimal number of recloser is presented. The algorithm is solved using genetic algorithm as the optimization method. The majority of outage events experienced by customers are due to electrical distribution failur…
M. A. El-Kady, B. M. Alshammari
This paper presents a new practical framework for evaluating reliability levels associated with power system supply-demand balance. The framework has been developed as part of a recent major industry-supported research and development study. The novel framewo…

It’s known that the pulverization-densification mechanism of metal hydride may cause the stress accumulation in metal hydrides reactors. In this paper, this idea is proved based on granulometry and a new idea of cycling compression effect is presented, which…

We study the effect of a parallel metal oxide surge arrester on the ferroresonance oscillations of transformers. It is expected that the arresters generally cause ferroresonance drop out. Simulation has been done on a three phase power transformer with one op…
Fathi Ben Amar, Rachid Dhifaoui
Ferroresonance is a complex and little known electrotechnical phenomenon. This lack of knowledge means that it is voluntarily considered responsible for a number of unexplained destructions or malfunctioning of equipment. The mathematical framework most suite…
Tarek M. Allam, Hanaa A. El-Sayed, Hanaa M. Soliman
The experimental investigations in this paper are focused on the study of luminous radiation emission from coaxial plasma discharge device and the effect of applied transverse magnetic field <i>Btr</i> on it. The experiment was done in (1.5 KJ - 10…
Tarek M. Allam, Hanaa A. El-Sayed, Hanaa M. Soliman
In this paper experiments and theoretical treatments [1] on 1.5 KJ coaxial plasma discharge device have been carried out to show, plasma current sheath, PCS, motion in coaxial plasma discharge by studying: the effect of nitrogen gas pressure in the range from…
P. Rathika, D. Devaraj
This paper presents a fuzzy logic based three phase four wire four-leg shunt active power filter to suppress harmonic currents. Modified instantaneous p-q theory is adopted for calculating the compensating current. Fuzzy-adaptive hysteresis band technique is…
Suresh Mikkili, Anup Kumar Panda
The main objective of this paper is to develop PI and Fuzzy logic controllers to analyse the performance of instantaneous real active and reactive power (p-q) control strategy for extracting reference currents of shunt active filters under balanced, un-balanc…

EPE, a monthly journal, publishes research and review articles in all important aspects of electric power engineering and other professionals involved in the electric power industry. Both experimental and theoretical papers are acceptable provided they report important findings, novel insights, or useful techniques in… All articles are open access under a CC BY 4.0 licence, with authors retaining copyright.
Authors submit their manuscript, metadata, and declarations through the portal. There is no submission fee.
The editorial office screens the manuscript for scope, completeness, and formatting before assigning a handling editor.
At least two independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript under single-blind review. Where revisions are required, authors respond point by point.
On acceptance the article processing charge is invoiced and the CC BY 4.0 copyright handover is signed.
The article is copyedited, typeset, and given a DOI, then publishes open access with a permanent link.
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Submit in Microsoft Word or LaTeX with figures at 300 dpi minimum. Structure research articles as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
Use the journal's numbered (Vancouver) reference style. Cite sources consecutively in the order they appear, and ensure every reference is complete and retrievable.
