EPE, a monthly journal, publishes research and review articles in all important aspects of electric power engineering and other professionals involved in the electric power industry. Both experimental and theoretical papers are acceptable provided they report important findings, novel insights, or useful techniques in…
Xingyu Li, Dongmei Zhao
In this paper, a dynamic generation scheduling model is formulated, aiming at minimizing the costs of power generation and taking into account the constraints of thermal power units and spinning reserve in wind power integrated systems. A dynamic solving meth…
Longlong Li, Dongmei Zhao
This paper presents an evolutionary stochastic production simulation to solve the optimal spinning reserve configuration problem in power system with wind integrated. Equivalent load curve is generated with considering the wind power forecasting deviation and…
N. A. Khan, S. Ghosh, S. P. Ghoshal
This paper presents a binary gravitational search algorithm (BGSA) is applied to solve the problem of optimal allotment of DG sets and Shunt capacitors in radial distribution systems. The problem is formulated as a nonlinear constrained single-objective optim…
Teruhisa Kumano, Shinjiro Netsu
This paper proposes a new Initial CCT (Critical Clearing Time) estimation method using a hybrid neural network composed of iRprop (Improving the Resilient back PROPation Algorithm) and RAN (Resource Allocation Network). In transient stability study, CCT evalu…
Lei Qiao
This paper describes the characteristics and optimal methods for the planning of stand-alone microgrid system, in order to improve the power supply reliability, increase the coefficient of utilization of renewable energy and reduce the cost of investment and…
Tajudeen H. Sikiru, Adisa A. Jimoh, Yskandar Hamam, John T. Agee, Roger Ceschi
This paper considers the use of the inherent structural characteristics of power system networks for improving the reactive power reserve margins for both topologically weak and strong networks. The inherent structural characteristics of the network are deriv…
Huanghuang Liu, Dan Liu, Qianjin Liu
This paper proposes to use the power system simulation software CYME to plan, model and simulate for an actual distribution network for improving the reliability and efficiency, enhancing the efficiency and capacity, simulating the abnormal condition of distr…
Chunyu Zhang, Yi Ding, Qiuwei Wu, Qi Wang, Jacob Østergaard
This paper presents a novel approach for electrical distribution network expansion planning using multi-objective particle swarm optimization (PSO). The optimization objectives are: investment and operation cost, energy losses cost, and power congestion cost.…
C. S. Chuang, G. W. Chang
Unit commitment (UC) is to determine the optimal unit status and generation level during each time interval of the scheduled period. The purpose of UC is to minimize the total generation cost while satisfying system demand, reserve requirements, and unit cons…
Kang Li, Yuanjun Guo, David Laverty, Haibo He, Minrui Fei
This paper presents a preliminary study of developing a novel distributed adaptive real-time learning framework for wide area monitoring of power systems integrated with distributed generations using synchrophasor technology. The framework comprises distribut…

EPE, a monthly journal, publishes research and review articles in all important aspects of electric power engineering and other professionals involved in the electric power industry. Both experimental and theoretical papers are acceptable provided they report important findings, novel insights, or useful techniques in… All articles are open access under a CC BY 4.0 licence, with authors retaining copyright.
Authors submit their manuscript, metadata, and declarations through the portal. There is no submission fee.
The editorial office screens the manuscript for scope, completeness, and formatting before assigning a handling editor.
At least two independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript under single-blind review. Where revisions are required, authors respond point by point.
On acceptance the article processing charge is invoiced and the CC BY 4.0 copyright handover is signed.
The article is copyedited, typeset, and given a DOI, then publishes open access with a permanent link.
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Submit in Microsoft Word or LaTeX with figures at 300 dpi minimum. Structure research articles as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
Use the journal's numbered (Vancouver) reference style. Cite sources consecutively in the order they appear, and ensure every reference is complete and retrievable.
