EPE, a monthly journal, publishes research and review articles in all important aspects of electric power engineering and other professionals involved in the electric power industry. Both experimental and theoretical papers are acceptable provided they report important findings, novel insights, or useful techniques in…
Qingsong Yang, Jianfei Yang, Huaren Wu, Long Liu
This paper develops a novel distributed temperature measurement system based on DSP and DS18B20 digital thermometer. The real-time temperature of each node in the switchgear is obtained by several DS18B20s which are connected on the 1-wire bus together. RS-48…

The smart distribution system is the critical part of the smart grid, which also plays an important role in the safe and reliable operation of the power grid. The self-healing function of smart distribution network will effectively improve the security, relia…
Yihao Zeng, Lin Guan, Han Wu
With electric power outage influence on different type users analyzed, indexes for assessing supply reliability need level is designed. Based on fuzzy evaluation method, a regional power supply reliability level assessment method which utilizes qualitative da…
Azen Y. Liu, P. H. Lan, H. H. Lin
Power conditioner, that is responsible for electric power conversion, is a critical component used in many renewable energy power generation systems. Most of the electric power produced by distributed energy resources cannot directly import to utility network…
Yuansen Zhang, Demin Cui, Qingtao Cao, Yongqiang Chai, Peng Liu, Xiaobo Li, Zhijian Hu, Chuanqi Li, Chengxue Zhang
A novel method of measuring the positive-sequence capacitance of T-connection transmission lines is proposed. The mathematical model of the new method is explained in detail. In order to obtain enough independent equations, three independent operation modes o…
Ziming Zhuo, Haimeng Sun, Haibin Ji
T he compensation current of the arc-suppressing coil makes the phase and amplitude of zero-sequence measurement current of the earthed fault feeder to vary. It is very hard to detect the fault feeder by using existing detectors based on single method. In thi…
Luly Susilo, J. C. Gu, S. K. Huang
Penetration of distribution generation (DG) into power system might disturb the existing fault diagnosis system. The detection of fault, fault classification, and random changes of direction of fault current cannot always be monitored and determined via on-li…
Stephanus A. Ananda, Jyh-Cherng Gu
Highly penetration of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) on the grid systems nowadays makes the systems grow dynamically. The system become more complex and the protection system become more complicated. The protection relay should accommodate the system chan…

EPE, a monthly journal, publishes research and review articles in all important aspects of electric power engineering and other professionals involved in the electric power industry. Both experimental and theoretical papers are acceptable provided they report important findings, novel insights, or useful techniques in… All articles are open access under a CC BY 4.0 licence, with authors retaining copyright.
Authors submit their manuscript, metadata, and declarations through the portal. There is no submission fee.
The editorial office screens the manuscript for scope, completeness, and formatting before assigning a handling editor.
At least two independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript under single-blind review. Where revisions are required, authors respond point by point.
On acceptance the article processing charge is invoiced and the CC BY 4.0 copyright handover is signed.
The article is copyedited, typeset, and given a DOI, then publishes open access with a permanent link.
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Submit in Microsoft Word or LaTeX with figures at 300 dpi minimum. Structure research articles as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
Use the journal's numbered (Vancouver) reference style. Cite sources consecutively in the order they appear, and ensure every reference is complete and retrievable.
Declare all funding sources, conflicts of interest, and ethical approvals (including informed consent and animal-care statements where applicable).
