Most of the alloys like titanium, steel, brass, copper, etc., are used in engineering applications like automobile, aero- space, marine etc., consist of two or more phases. If a material consists of two or more phases or components it is very difficult to pre…
Santram Chauhan, Sunil Thakur
In this paper the friction and wear characteristics of vinylester and cenosphere reinforced vinylester composites have been investigated under dry sliding conditions, under different applied normal load and sliding speed. Wear tests were carried using pin on…
Chinnamuthu Senthilkumar, Gowrishankar Ganesan, Ramanujam Karthikeyan
Electrochemical machining (ECM) could be used as one of the best non-traditional machining technique for machining electrically conducting, tough and difficult to machine material with appropriate machining parameters combination. This paper attempts to estab…
Nader El-Bagoury, Mohamed Ramadan
The effect of Rhenium additions to the standard Inconel 718 (ST IN718) alloy as well as solution and aging treatments on microstructure and hardness property were studied. The microstructure of Re-containing alloys has higher volume fraction of δ phase than s…
Aondona .P. Ihom, Nyior .G. Bem, Emmanuel E. Anbua, Joy N. Ogbodo
A particulate-hardened composite usually known as cermets with aluminum matrix and reinforced with ceramic particles from broken bottles was used to investigate the effect of ageing time on hardness and tensile strength. The samples used for the work were pro…
