In this study, the benefit-cost analysis technique for projects evaluation is applied to determine the minimum level of demand that makes a high-speed rail project economically viable in Spain. To get this goal, it is nec- essary to take into account not only…
Nobuo Fujii, Mitsunobu Terata, Takeshi Mizuma
A new linear synchronous motor (LSM) with permanent magnet (PM) is proposed to develop a linear motor for transportation with high efficiency. The LSM has very high air-gap flux density beyond the remanent magnetization of rare earth PM, which is generated by…
Nobuo Fujii, Shuhei Kanamitsu, Takeshi Mizuma
The characteristics of linear transformer are studied analytically. The transformer is composed in one of modes of linear motor-transformer apparatus proposed for future wireless light rail vehicle (LRV). The secondary (onboard) power factor can be adjusted a…

For years the interest of the UDR1 researcher group has been focused on the development of a Hybrid Series (HS) vehicle, different from the standard one, using a Gas Turbine (GT) set as a thermal engine. The reason of this choice resides in the opportunity to…
Olaleye Michael Amoo, R. Layi Fagbenle
The global supplies of petroleum are on the decline and the dwindling resource has become increasingly difficult to access. Improved technology is increasingly been required to access petroleum that is in hard to reach geographical environments and has chemic…
Woo-Choon Moon, Kwang-Eui Yoo, Youn-Chul Choi
Navigable airspaces are becoming more crowded with increasing air traffic, and the number of accidents caused by human errors is increasing. The main objective of this paper is to evaluate the relationship between air traffic volume and human error in air tra…
