During earthquakes and strong underground explosions it is possible to observe two different effects. The first one is connected with the destruction of media, and this causes acoustic and later hybrid acoustic-electromagnetic waves in an epicenter in the atm…

We have written a new equation to study the statistics of earthquake distributions. We call this equation “the generalized logistic equation”. The Gutenberg-Richter frequency-magnitude formula was derived from the solution of the generalized logistic equation…

The object of this study is to determine the seismic response of regular high-rise steel buildings with chevron-braced frames. Mechanics models of three buildings of 14, 18 and 20 stories are studied, all of them with similar geometric characteristics in plan…
Alexey Lyubushin
The prognostic properties of four low-frequency seismic noise statistics are discussed: multi- fractal singularity spectrum support width, wavelet-based smoothness index of seismic noise waveforms, minimum normalized entropy of squared orthogonal wavelet coef…
Reyes Indira Herrera, Juan Carlos Vielma, Ronald Ugel, Yolsanie Martínez, Alex Barbat
This study evaluates the seismic response of an existing two stories RC building using non-linear analysis. The original model was resized and there were obtained two buildings designed under two different methodologies to fulfill the Venezuelan codes require…

The main purpose of the paper is assessing the three-dimensional (3-D) seismic tomography beneath Egyptto reveal the laws of the tectonic activity, dynamic features of the crust and the upper mantle as well as the thermal structure. Thecoda wave attenuation (…

A control strategy for structures subjected to earthquake actions is investigated. The strategy is inspired from the human beings reaction when they are attack by earthquake excitation. Humans realize the earthquake excitation by the neurons, sent this inform…

The history of the Etna volcano (Sicily) is marked by the alternation of brief intervals of eruptive activity and long periods of apparent inactivity. Usually during the periods of pseudo-inactivity, there are evident symptoms that the volcano is still active…

Objective: Major seismic events leave their survivors trapped under the rubble leading to extensive muscle damage and its devastating sequale of hemodynamic and metabolic disturbances and acute renal failure. Hypoxemia aggravated during each hemodialysis (HD)…
Kaganov William Ilich
It is considered three phases of development of a tropical cyclone: the origin, the steady-state regime and the termination, coinciding with three phases of self-oscillatory process: oscillation buid-up, dynamic balance and failure of self-oscillations. The r…
