Open Journal of Acoustics (OJA) is an international journal dedicated to the advancement of the study of acoustics. The goal of this journal is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in different areas of acoustics. Al…

Information on hearing thresholds is not always reliable as differences in these thresholds have been described even for the same species. This may partially be due to different methods used by different labs. A frequently used approach to obtain an estimate…

Variation of ocean environmental parameters is important to sound ray propagation. This article studies the problem of sound ray propagation in seawater by BELLHOP ray model. The sensitivities of sound ray propagation to the variations of seabed topography an…

This paper concentrates on the study of the three-dimensional free vibrations in a homogenous isotropic, viscothermoelastic hollow sphere whose surfaces are subjected to stress free, thermally insulated or isothermal boundary conditions. The use of governing…

The first-order small slope approximation is applied to model the scattering strength from a rough surface in underwater acoustics to account for seafloor for high frequencies from 10 kHz to hundreds of kilohertz. Emphasis is placed on simulating the response…
Farah Deeba, A. A. Mamun
A theoretical investigation has been made on the nonplanar (cylindrical and spherical) dust-ion-acoustic (DIA) double layers (DLs) in a dusty plasma system, containing inertial ions, Boltzmann electrons, and negatively charged stationary dust. In this investi…

Authors numerically demonstrate that the seismic surface waves from an earthquake can be attenuated by a seismic crystal structure constructed on the ground. In the study, seismic crystals with a lattice constant of kilometer are investigated in the aspect of…

Employing the poroelastic theory of acoustic waves in gels, the ultrasound (US) propagation in a gel medium filled by poroelastic spherical cells is studied. The equation of fast compressional wave, the phase velocity and the attenuation as a function of the…

Dolphins produce various types of sounds in a wide range of frequencies. Characteristics of some sounds till now have not been correctly registered, that influenced on interpretation of their functions. Studying of the characteristics and functions of dolphin…

Authors submit their manuscript, metadata, and declarations through the portal. There is no submission fee.
The editorial office screens the manuscript for scope, completeness, and formatting before assigning a handling editor.
At least two independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript under single-blind review. Where revisions are required, authors respond point by point.
On acceptance the article processing charge is invoiced and the CC BY 4.0 copyright handover is signed.
The article is copyedited, typeset, and given a DOI, then publishes open access with a permanent link.
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Submit in Microsoft Word or LaTeX with figures at 300 dpi minimum. Structure research articles as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
Use the journal's numbered (Vancouver) reference style. Cite sources consecutively in the order they appear, and ensure every reference is complete and retrievable.
