Scoliosis is a musculoskeletal disorder manifested as a three-dimensional spinal deformity. It affects 2% - 3% of the adolescent population. The conventional method to diagnose scoliosis is to measure the Cobb angle from posteroante-rior radiograph. Since rad…

This theoretical paper analytically predicts the existence of new surface wave in propagation direction [101] in the cubic piezoelectromagnetics. The solution for the velocity of the new wave is given in an explicit form. Such new wave possesses one real comp…

It is demonstrated that the universally accepted system of gas-dynamic (hydrodynamic) equations is applicable only to homogeneous (isentropic) media and requires advancement to get applicable to non-homogeneous media. A generalized equation of gravitational w…

This paper describes in depth the design and application considerations of a computer based measurement system enabling 1 MS/s simultaneous sampling of 47 hydrophones for cross sectional recordings of echolocation beams of toothed whales (Odontocetes). An ear…

The purpose of this paper is to study the effect of presence of fluid within and around a poroelastic circular cylindrical shell of infinite extent on axially symmetric vibrations. The frequency equation each for a pervious and an impervious surface is obtain…

It is demonstrated that contemporary conception on adiabaticity of sound in the Earth atmosphere is fair in sufficient approximation only for altitudes z ≤ 10 3 m. At higher altitudes adiabaticity of sound is violated and essential dependence of its speed on…

In this paper, the quantum hydrodynamics (QHD) model is used to study the propagation of small- but finite-amplitude quantum electrostatic shock-wave in an inertial-less symmetric pair (ion) plasma with immobile background positive constituents. The dispersio…

In this paper we present a simple way to convert a conventional sonometer into a simulated fretted instrument, such as a guitar or similar, by adding a fingerboard to the sonometer. In particular, we use this modified apparatus in relation to the problem of t…

We study characteristics of acoustic emission caused by an air flow filtered through samples of solid porous pumice either partially filled with glycerin or dry. Some peculiarities of the laboratory setup and the performed experiments are described. Samples o…

The scattering strength of isotropic and anisotropic rough surfaces was experimentally and theoretically investigated for high frequencies about 500 kHz. Emphasis was placed on studying the response from three two-dimensional rough surfaces which roughness wa…
