Open Journal of Acoustics (OJA) is an international journal dedicated to the advancement of the study of acoustics. The goal of this journal is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in different areas of acoustics. Al…

It is theoretically considered the propagation (first evidence) of new dispersive shear-horizontal (SH) acoustic waves in the piezoelectromagnetic (magnetoelectroelastic) composite plates. The studied two-phase composites (BaTiO 3 -CoFe 2 O 4 and PZT-5H-Terfe…

The starting point of this study is the theory of tonal consonance by Plomp and Levelt. The major reference point is the theory of Critical Band and its use for evaluating consonance of simple tones. On the basis of such empirical criterion, our aim consists…

The rim partials of a church bell (those with an antinode at the soundbow) generate the strike pitch or perceived note of the bell. The spacing in frequency of the higher rim partials has an important effect on the tonal quality of the bell. Investigations in…

The features of acoustic bathymetry of sludge in crude oil tanks are considered. Different parameters of crude oil and sludge which are important for the selection of acoustic parameters such as sound speed, the acoustic impedances of “oil-sludge” boundaries…
Vsevolod Petrovich Ivanov, Galina Kalenikovna Ivanova
Using the ray method, an investigation has been carried out on the structure of caustics in the wa - veguide assuming the canonical distribution of the sound velocity with depth. Monochromatic point source of sound was on the axis of the waveguide. There is c…

Experiments are performed in choked circular hot and cold nitrogen jets issuing from a 2.44 cm diameter sharp-edged orifice at a fully expanded jet Mach number of 1.85 in an effort to investi gate the character of screech phenomenon. The stagnation temperatur…

Transmission Loss (TL) of a glass cylinder tube containing a fluid is studied experimentally. This test specimen represents a typical double layer panel including a fluid. The tests are carried out by using a modified four-microphone standing-wave (impedance)…

Applications of Electro-Rheological (ER) or Magneto-Rheological (MR) fluids as typical smart ma terials have been widely investigated over the past decades (since their introduction in 40 ’ s). The special application s of these materials as a means of noise…

Human safety is the most important issue in disaster management. Speech is a sound signal containing information that is easily and quickly understood by humans. Using speech as sound signage in emergency systems can effectively in crease human safety in low…

A higher-order acoustic-displacement based finite element procedure is presented in this paper to investigate one-di mensional sound propagation through a solid and the associated transmission loss. The acoustic system consists of columns of standard air and…

Authors submit their manuscript, metadata, and declarations through the portal. There is no submission fee.
The editorial office screens the manuscript for scope, completeness, and formatting before assigning a handling editor.
At least two independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript under single-blind review. Where revisions are required, authors respond point by point.
On acceptance the article processing charge is invoiced and the CC BY 4.0 copyright handover is signed.
The article is copyedited, typeset, and given a DOI, then publishes open access with a permanent link.
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Submit in Microsoft Word or LaTeX with figures at 300 dpi minimum. Structure research articles as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
Use the journal's numbered (Vancouver) reference style. Cite sources consecutively in the order they appear, and ensure every reference is complete and retrievable.
