Weibing Zuo, Yingli Li
In order to overcome the well-known multicollinearity problem, we propose a new Stochastic Restricted Liu Estimator in logistic regression model. In the mean square error matrix sense, the new estimation is compared with the Maximum Likelihood Estimation, Liu…

Portfolio theory is used to measure the expected return and risk on the basis of the return ratio, but in fact there is always excessively high or low return ratio caused by some short-term fundamental good or bad news in the history data of return ratio. We…

The purpose of this paper is to combine the estimation of output price risk and positive mathematical programming (PMP). It reconciles the risk programming presented by Freund with a consistent estimate of the constant absolute risk aversion (CARA) coefficien…

This paper is concerned with the pricing problem of the discrete arithmetic average Asian call option while the discrete dividends follow geometric Brownian motion. The volatility of the dividends model depends on the Markov-Modulated process. The binomial tr…

Let two separate surveys collect related information on a single population U. Consider situation where we want to best combine data from the two surveys to yield a single set of estimates of a population quantity (population parameter) of interest. This Arti…

In this paper, the parameter estimation problem is investigated for the continuous time stochastic logistic diffusion system. A new continuous process is built based on the likelihood ratio scheme, the Radon-Nikodym derivative and the explicit expressions of…
Alexandra Wicht, Alexandra Nonnenmacher
This paper examines the significance of spatial externalities for youths’ school-to-training transitions in Germany. For this purpose, it is necessary to address the methodological question of how an individual’s spatial context has to be operationalized with…
Ole Klungsøyr, Mats Fredriksen
An improved method for estimation of causal effects from observational data is demonstrated. Applications in medicine have been few, and the purpose of the present study is to contribute new clinical insight by means of this new and more sophisticated analysi…

Controversy exists on the magnitude and variability of farm nutrient balances and quality of arable land in sub-Saharan Africa with Kenya among those affected negatively. This study investigates quality of arable land by fitting multivariate multilevel model…
Atoossa Bakhshaii, Edward A. Johnson
The observed basic weather variables are the main representative of climate trends and the atmosphere. The unresolved meteorological scale in weather observation such as micro scale, can produce a noticeable bias in amplitude, frequency, phase and climate tre…
