This paper presents and statistically compared eight alternative methods that could possibly be used in the analysis of matched or paired sample data, including situations in which the data being analyzed satisfy the usual assumptions of normality and continu…

A novel indicator named after Tianjin University (TJU)-T-indicator-was investigated as an effective supplement of established Article Assessment System of Tianjin University, aiming to correct differences among fields. Based on normalized citation counts, T-i…

In this paper PC-VAR estimation of vector autoregressive models (VAR) is proposed. The estimation strategy successfully lessens the curse of dimensionality affecting VAR models, when estimated using sample sizes typically available in quarterly studies. The p…

A new two-parameter count distribution is derived starting with probabilistic arguments around the gamma function and the digamma function. This model is a generalization of the Poisson model with a noteworthy assortment of qualities. For example, the mean is…

Spurious regression has been extensively studied in time series econometrics since Granger and Newbold’s seminal paper. Recently, it has been advanced that this phenomenon is due to a mistreatment of short-range autocorrelation in the residuals of the regress…

In this paper, we try to find numerical solution of y'(x)= p(x)y(x)+g(x)+λ∫ b a K(x, t)y(t)dt, y(a)=α. a≤x≤b, a≤t≤b or y'(x)= p(x)y(x)+g(x)+λ∫ x a K(x, t)y(t)dt, y(a)=α. a≤x≤b, a≤t≤b by using Local polynomial regression (LPR) method. The numerical solution sh…

The current standard for measuring tumor response using X-ray, CT and MRI is based on the response evaluation criterion in solid tumors (RECIST) which, while providing simplifications over previous (WHO) 2-D methods, stipulate four response categories: CR (co…

We propose a subsampling method for robust estimation of regression models which is built on classical methods such as the least squares method. It makes use of the non-robust nature of the underlying classical method to find a good sample from regression dat…

Conventional Akaike’s Information Criterion ( AIC ) for normal error models uses the maximum-likelihood estimator of error variance. Other estimators of error variance, however, can be employed for defining AIC for normal error models. The maximization of the…
