The World Journal of Mechanics (WJM) will cover the general field of mechanics including the mechanics of solids, structures and fluids and their interaction. The goal of this journal is to provide an international forum for the publication and dissemination of original work which contributes to the understanding of t…

The aspiration to clarify and visualize Einstein’s interpretation of the notion of simultaneity and relativistic understanding of length and time interval measurements led to the development of a model in which light pulses were replaced by sound signals. The…

Mechanical vibrations cause forces that affect human bodies. One of the most common positions for human bodies is the seated position. In this work, mathematical models of the seated human body are investigated and simulated in a Simulink/ MATLAB environment.…

In the present paper, in order to clarity the effects of non-Newtonian liquid properties on the flow, similar experiments have been conducted for that of 0.4 wt% polyacrylamide (PAM) aqueous solutions as the working liquid, and air as the working gas. Liquid…

In structural analysis, it is often necessary to determine the geometrical properties of cross section. The location of the shear center is greater importance for an arbitrary cross section. In this study, the problems of coupled shearing and torsional were a…

In this paper, we define the harmonic oscillator with random damping in non-Markovian thermal bath. This model represents new version of the random oscillators. In this side, we derive the overdamped harmonic oscillator with multiplicative colored noise and t…

This paper focuses on theoretical investigation of active vibration control of a cantilever beam using heat actuation. The actuator is a thin metal bar rigidly bonded to the beam on one face and subject to heat input on the opposite face. The actuator then wo…

Labyrinth weirs provide higher discharge capacity than conventional weirs, with the ability to pass large flows at comparatively low heads. Labyrinth weirs are primarily used as spillways for dams where the spillway width is restricted. In recent years, many…

A locking-free rectangular Mindlin plate element with a new multi-resolution analysis (MRA) is proposed and a new finite element method is hence presented. The MRA framework is formulated out of a mutually nesting displacement subspace sequence whose basis fu…

The authors carried out drop impact tests for several soft materials under a flat frontal impact condition in which a drop hammer with a flat bottom surface strikes a plate-like soft material in the normal direction. The experimental results indicated that th…

A T-junction is a fundamental fluid element prevalent in pipe networks of water supplies and power plants. In the present study, a double T-junction was investigated for flow instability and fluid vibration. Both axi-aligned and skewed double T-junctions are…

The goal of this journal is to provide an international forum for the publication and dissemination of original work which contributes to the understanding of t… All articles are open access under a CC BY 4.0 licence, with authors retaining copyright.
Authors submit their manuscript, metadata, and declarations through the portal. There is no submission fee.
The editorial office screens the manuscript for scope, completeness, and formatting before assigning a handling editor.
At least two independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript under single-blind review. Where revisions are required, authors respond point by point.
On acceptance the article processing charge is invoiced and the CC BY 4.0 copyright handover is signed.
The article is copyedited, typeset, and given a DOI, then publishes open access with a permanent link.
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Submit in Microsoft Word or LaTeX with figures at 300 dpi minimum. Structure research articles as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
Use the journal's numbered (Vancouver) reference style. Cite sources consecutively in the order they appear, and ensure every reference is complete and retrievable.
Declare all funding sources, conflicts of interest, and ethical approvals (including informed consent and animal-care statements where applicable).
