The World Journal of Mechanics (WJM) will cover the general field of mechanics including the mechanics of solids, structures and fluids and their interaction. The goal of this journal is to provide an international forum for the publication and dissemination of original work which contributes to the understanding of t…

A normal mode analysis for characterizing the temperature fluctuation in tissues was proposed based on the Penne’s bio-heat transfer equation. Closed-form analytical solutions to obtain the heating pattern due to the propagation of ultrasonic waves in tissue…

The object of the present paper is to study the transient magneto-thermo-visco-elastic stresses in a non-ho- mogeneous anisotropic solid under initial stress. The system of fundamental equations is solved by means of a dual reciprocity boundary element method…

The propagation of acoustic waves in a homogeneous isotropic semiconducting layer sandwiched between two homogeneous transversely isotropic piezoelectric halfspaces has been investigated. The mathematical model of the problem is depicted by a set of partial d…

This paper presents a mathematical model of linear acoustic wave propagation in fluids. The benefits of a mathematical model over a normal mode analysis are first discussed, then the mathematical model for acoustic propagation in the test medium is developed…
Hossein Hamedi, Mohammad Hassan Rahimian
In this paper, the power-law model for a non-Newtonian (pseudo-plastic) flow is investigated numerically. The D2Q9 model of Lattice Boltzmann method is used to simulate the micro-channel flow with expansion geometries. This geometry is made by two squared or…

A similarity solution for the steady hydromagnetic convective heat and mass transfer with slip flow from a spinning disk with viscous dissipation and Ohmic heating yields a system of non-linear, coupled, ordinary differential equations. These equations are an…
Yulong Zhao, Liehui Zhang
Conventional pressure-transient models have been developed under the assumption of homogeneous reservoir. However, core, log and outcrop data indicate this assumption is not realistic in most cases. But in many cases, the homogeneous models are still applied…

The onset of the silver azide simple destruction was experimentally determined. Three independent methods were used—comparative investigation of the explosive luminescence from all the experimental area and from the laser action area, investigation of conduct…

We consider a one-dimensional elastic line with a linear varying density. Utilizing a Computer Algebra System (CAS), such as Mathematica symbolically we solve the equation describing progressive transverse waves yielding standing waves. For a set of suitable…

An analysis is performed to study thermo-diffusion and diffusion-thermo effects on mixed convection heat and mass transfer boundary layer flow along an inclined (solar collector) plate. The resulting governing equations are transformed and then solved numeric…

The goal of this journal is to provide an international forum for the publication and dissemination of original work which contributes to the understanding of t… All articles are open access under a CC BY 4.0 licence, with authors retaining copyright.
Authors submit their manuscript, metadata, and declarations through the portal. There is no submission fee.
The editorial office screens the manuscript for scope, completeness, and formatting before assigning a handling editor.
At least two independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript under single-blind review. Where revisions are required, authors respond point by point.
On acceptance the article processing charge is invoiced and the CC BY 4.0 copyright handover is signed.
The article is copyedited, typeset, and given a DOI, then publishes open access with a permanent link.
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Submit in Microsoft Word or LaTeX with figures at 300 dpi minimum. Structure research articles as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
Use the journal's numbered (Vancouver) reference style. Cite sources consecutively in the order they appear, and ensure every reference is complete and retrievable.
