Applied Mathematics (AM) is an international journal dedicated to the latest advancements in applied mathematics. The goal of this journal is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in different areas of applied mathema…
Darko Brborovic, Petra Posedel
With pre 2008 euphoria and present depression, inflows to open investment funds and outflows from it shaped general market conditions on the Croatian fund market. This article studies the relationship between performance of open ended investment funds and inf…

We review (not exhaustively) the quantum random walk on the line in various settings, and propose some questions that we believe have not been tackled in the literature. In a sense, this article invites the readers (beginner, intermediate, or advanced), to ex…
Sergio Clementi, Mauro Fernandi, Diego Decastri, Matteo Bazzurri
The paper illustrates a new way of using the CARSO procedure for response surfaces analyses derived from innovative experimental designs in multivariate spaces, based on Double Circulant Matrices (DCMs). We report a case study regarding a design based on a DC…
Safarov Ismail Ibrahimovich, Teshaev Muhsin Hudoyberdievich, Madjidov Maqsud
We investigated the natural oscillations of dissipative inhomogeneous plate mechanical systems with point connections. Based on the principle of virtual displacements, we equate to zero the sum of all active work force, including the force of inertia which ob…

The Poisson process is a stochastic process that models many real-world phenomena. We present the definition of the Poisson process and discuss some facts as well as some related probability distributions. Finally, we give some new applications of the process.
Sana Khan, Mohammad Kalimuddin Ahmad
In this paper, we discuss the B-spline wavelets introduced by Chui and Wang in [1]. The definition for B-spline wavelet packets is proposed along with the corresponding dual wavelet packets. The properties of B-spline wavelet packets are also investigated.
To Van Ban, Nguyen Thi Quyen
In this paper, the roughness of the model function to the basis functions and its properties have been considered. We also consider some conditions to take the limit of the roughness when the observations are i.i.d. An explicit formula to calculate the power…
Jicheng Tao, Wen Yan
In this paper, we investigate Kazhdan’s relative Property (T) for pairs , where is a topological group and is any subset of . We show that the pair has Property (FH) and every function conditionally of negative type on is X-bounded if the pair has relative Pr…
Fernanda Jaiara Dellajustina, Luciano Camargo Martins
We propose and demonstrate an original geometric argument for the ancient Babylonian square root method, which is analyzed and compared to the Newton-Raphson method. Based on simple geometry and algebraic analysis the former original iterated map is derived a…
Charles Corrêa Dias, Fernanda Jaiara Dellajustina, Luciano Camargo Martins
In this paper we propose two original iterated maps to numerically approximate the nth root of a real number. Comparisons between the new maps and the famous Newton-Raphson method are carried out, including fixed point determination, stability analysis and me…
