EPE, a monthly journal, publishes research and review articles in all important aspects of electric power engineering and other professionals involved in the electric power industry. Both experimental and theoretical papers are acceptable provided they report important findings, novel insights, or useful techniques in…
Turki Kahawish Hassan
In this paper, the Author presents the theory and application of repetitive proportional integral current con-troller for boost single phase ac-dc converter with power factor correction (PFC). A repetitive controller which is inserted in series with the propo…
Ben Hamed Mouna, Sbita Lassaâd
This paper deals with performance analysis and implementation of a three phase inverter fed induction motor (IM) drive system. The closed loop control scheme of the drive utilizes the Digital Phase Locked Loop (DPLL). The DPLL is safely implemented all around…
Mohamed Daoud, Xavier Fernando
The current power grid is facing many challenges that it was not designed or engineered to handle which range from congestions and major blackouts to the overwhelming increase in demand and security concerns. The current electric grid was established before t…
Mikkili Suresh, Anup Kumar Panda, Y. Suresh
As more and more variable frequency drives (VFDs), electronic ballasts, battery chargers, and static Var compensators are installed in facilities, the problems related to harmonics are expected to get worse. As a result Active power filter (APF) gains much mo…
Amany M. El-Zonkoly, Hussein Desouki
Distance protection of transmission lines including advanced flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) de-vices has been a very challenging task. FACTS devices of interest in this paper are static synchronous series compensators (SSSC) and unified power flow co…
Limin Gao, Xudong Feng, Jian Xie
A three-dimensional viscous code has been developed to solve Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations. The governing equations in finite volume form are solved by two-step Runge-Kutta scheme with implicit residual smoothing. The eddy viscous is obtained usin…
Qiwei Du, Zhonghua Su, Sheng Li
In power systems, the Hopf bifurcation (HB) can occur before the saddle-node bifurcation (SNB) and be-comes one of main reasons of voltage instability and collapse, so the bifurcation control for HB has impor-tant significance in improving power system voltag…
Bin Liu, Jixin Kang, Nan Jiang, Yuanwei Jing
This paper investigates the cost control problem of congestion management model in the real-time power systems. An improved optimal congestion cost model is built by introducing the congestion factor in dealing with the cases: opening the generator side and l…
Evans Nyasha Chogumaira, Takashi Hiyama
This paper presents an artificial neural network, ANN, based approach for estimating short-term wholesale electricity prices using past price and demand data. The objective is to utilize the piecewise continuous na-ture of electricity prices on the time domai…
Wieslaw Marszalek, Zdzislaw Trzaska
We investigate an important relationship that exists between the Hopf bifurcation in the singularly perturbed nonlinear power systems and the singularity induced bifurcations (SIBs) in the corresponding different- tial-algebraic equations (DAEs). In a generic…

EPE, a monthly journal, publishes research and review articles in all important aspects of electric power engineering and other professionals involved in the electric power industry. Both experimental and theoretical papers are acceptable provided they report important findings, novel insights, or useful techniques in… All articles are open access under a CC BY 4.0 licence, with authors retaining copyright.
Authors submit their manuscript, metadata, and declarations through the portal. There is no submission fee.
The editorial office screens the manuscript for scope, completeness, and formatting before assigning a handling editor.
At least two independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript under single-blind review. Where revisions are required, authors respond point by point.
On acceptance the article processing charge is invoiced and the CC BY 4.0 copyright handover is signed.
The article is copyedited, typeset, and given a DOI, then publishes open access with a permanent link.
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Submit in Microsoft Word or LaTeX with figures at 300 dpi minimum. Structure research articles as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
Use the journal's numbered (Vancouver) reference style. Cite sources consecutively in the order they appear, and ensure every reference is complete and retrievable.
Declare all funding sources, conflicts of interest, and ethical approvals (including informed consent and animal-care statements where applicable).
