Open Journal of Acoustics (OJA) is an international journal dedicated to the advancement of the study of acoustics. The goal of this journal is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in different areas of acoustics. Al…

The in-situ measurement of sound reflection and airborne sound insulation characteristics of a noise barrier in Europe are currently performed following the CEN/TS 1793-5 European standard guidelines (last revision published in 2003 [ 1 ]). After some years a…

Improved signal to noise ratio (SNR) and resolution of the ambient noise cross-correlation function (NCF) between two points help in the estimation of bottom profile of the ocean. One of the main requirements of the improvement of the SNR and resolution is co…

A photoacoustic (PA) imaging apparatus using a laser line-focus beam (LFB) was designed to perform rapid inspection and photoacoustic tomographic (PAT) imaging of surface and undersurface defects. 2D-PAT imaging of surface and undersurface defects was demonst…

A constant problem is to localize a number of acoustic sources, to separate their individual signals and to estimate their strengths in a propagation medium. An acoustic receiving array with signal processing algorithms is then used. The most widely used algo…

Side branch Helmholtz resonators (HRs) are widely used to control low frequency tonal noise in air duct system. The passive Helmholtz resonator only works effectively over a narrow frequency range around resonance frequency. Changes in the exciting frequency…

Industrial noise can be successfully mitigated with the combined use of passive and Active Noise Control (ANC) strategies. In a noisy area, a practical solution for noise attenuation may include both the use of baffles and ANC. When the operator is required t…

Work is devoted to the analysis of errors meeting in literature in treatment of a spatial part of a phase of running sound waves. In some cases , it is not take n into consideration that this part of a phase is formed by scalar product of vectors which does n…

In this paper, one of analogies available in the literature between movement of a material particle and ray propagation of a sound in liquid is used. By means of the equations of Hamilton describing movement of a material particle, ana lytical expression of a…

The recent Standard ISO 226 concerning equal-loudness-level contours has been critically analysed. As a result, it is shown that the fitting and smoothing processes applied in the standard lead to parameter values defining equal-loudness-level contours that a…

In audio classification applications, features extracted from the frequency domain representation of signals are typically focused on the magnitude spectral content, while the phase spectral content is ignored. The conventional Fourier Phase Spectrum is a hig…

Authors submit their manuscript, metadata, and declarations through the portal. There is no submission fee.
The editorial office screens the manuscript for scope, completeness, and formatting before assigning a handling editor.
At least two independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript under single-blind review. Where revisions are required, authors respond point by point.
On acceptance the article processing charge is invoiced and the CC BY 4.0 copyright handover is signed.
The article is copyedited, typeset, and given a DOI, then publishes open access with a permanent link.
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Submit in Microsoft Word or LaTeX with figures at 300 dpi minimum. Structure research articles as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
Use the journal's numbered (Vancouver) reference style. Cite sources consecutively in the order they appear, and ensure every reference is complete and retrievable.
Declare all funding sources, conflicts of interest, and ethical approvals (including informed consent and animal-care statements where applicable).
