Open Journal of Statistics (OJS) is an international journal dedicated to the latest advancements in statistics. The goal of this journal is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in different areas of statistics. All…

In this paper, the estimation of the parameters in partial functional linear models with ARCH(p) errors is discussed. With employing the functional principle component, a hybrid estimating method is suggested. The asymptotic normality of the proposed estimato…

This paper considers pricing European options under the well-known of SVJ model of Bates and related computational methods. According to the no-arbitrage principle, we first derive a partial differential equation that the value of any European contingent clai…

Empirical studies show that more and more short-term rate models in capturing the dynamics cannot be described by those classic ones. So the mean-reverting γ -process was correspondingly proposed. In most cases, its coefficients do not satisfy the linear grow…

Caesarean is a major surgical procedure undertaken in obstetrics and its rate is increasing in Sri Lanka as well as in the world. In Sri Lanka, health statistics show an increase in caesarean rates from 13.3% in 1998 to 30.6% by 2007. Due to its potential ser…

The multistage queue model was developed for a situation where parallel and unrelated queues exist at the first stage only. These queues merged into single queues at the remaining stages. The parallel queues offer services that are different from one another…

Testing the equality of means of two normally distributed random variables when their variances are unequal is known in the statistical literature as the “Behrens-Fisher problem”. It is well-known that the posterior distributions of the parameters of interest…

Maximum Entropy Empirical Likelihood (MEEL) methods are extended to bivariate distributions with closed form expressions for their bivariate Laplace transforms (BLT) or moment generating functions (BMGF) without closed form expressions for their bivariate den…

In the case of comparison between samples with unequal replications [n 1 # n 2 # n 3 # ... # n k ], the statistician should use LSD (Least Significant Difference) many times to achieve these comparisons, this method consumes more time and effort. The purpose…

The purpose of this paper is to propose a new model of asymmetry for square contingency tables with ordered categories. The new model may be appropriate for a square contingency table if it is reasonable to assume an underlying bivariate t-distribution with d…

Researchers conducting randomized clinical trials with two treatment groups sometimes wish to determine whether biomarkers are predictive and/or prognostic. They can use regression models with interaction terms to assess the role of the biomarker of interest.…

All… All articles are open access under a CC BY 4.0 licence, with authors retaining copyright.
Authors submit their manuscript, metadata, and declarations through the portal. There is no submission fee.
The editorial office screens the manuscript for scope, completeness, and formatting before assigning a handling editor.
At least two independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript under single-blind review. Where revisions are required, authors respond point by point.
On acceptance the article processing charge is invoiced and the CC BY 4.0 copyright handover is signed.
The article is copyedited, typeset, and given a DOI, then publishes open access with a permanent link.
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Submit in Microsoft Word or LaTeX with figures at 300 dpi minimum. Structure research articles as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
Use the journal's numbered (Vancouver) reference style. Cite sources consecutively in the order they appear, and ensure every reference is complete and retrievable.
