The sensitivity of mono-crystalline solar PV module towards dust accumulation, ambient temperature, relative humidity, and cloud cover is investigated from May to August 2015 for Niamey’s environment. Two solar modules with the same characteristics have been…
Ming Zhang, Yiming Zhan, Shunfan He
To reduce the stress of data transmission and storage for power quality (PQ) in smart distribution systems and help PQ analysis, a multichannel data compression based on iterative PCA (principal component analysis) algorithm is introduced. The proposed method…

Solar-hydrogen system has great potential for contributing to sustainable and clean energy supply. The aim of this study is to clarify the impact of heat transfer media in solar collector such as methane, ammonium, hydrogen, air and water on the performance o…
Jun Hashimoto, Taha Selim Ustun, Kenji Otani
Variable distributed energy resources (DERs) such as photovoltaic (PV) systems and wind power systems require additional power resources to control the balance between supply and demand. Battery energy storage systems (BESSs) are one such possible resource fo…
Idrissa Sourabié, Issa Zerbo, Martial Zoungrana, Dioari Ulrich Combari, Dieudonné Joseph Bathiebo
The aim of this work is to investigate, with a three-dimensional steady-state approach, the effect of the incidence angle of a magnetic field on the performance of a polycrystalline silicon solar cell under multispectral illumination. The magneto-transport an…
Arslan Habib, Adeel Arshad, Rafiq Khan
Penetration of Distributed Renewable Energy in active distribution network has increased year by year, and the distributed characteristics of active distribution network has become increasingly prominent; it is difficult for traditional centralized energy sch…

The efficiency of a silicon solar cell is directly linked to the quantity of carrier photogenerated in its base. It increases with the increase of the quantity of carrier in the base of the solar cell. The carrier density in the base of the solar cell increas…
Md. Sabbir Alam, Hiroyuki Hirahara
The objective of this research is mainly focused on environment-friendly and moderately slow flapping wind turbine which can easily operate in or near urban areas or rooftops owing to scale merit with low-frequency turbine noise, installation cost, avian mort…

At present, the structure of power systems is greatly changing due to the penetration of decentralized generations. Although they encompass a high flexibility potential, their large-scale penetration interferes with the power system operation at all voltage l…
Tawfiq M. Aljohani, Mohammed J. Beshir
Reliability of power systems is a key aspect in modern power system planning, design, and operation. The ascendance of the smart grid concept has provided high hopes of developing an intelligent network that is capable of being a self-healing grid, offering t…
