EPE, a monthly journal, publishes research and review articles in all important aspects of electric power engineering and other professionals involved in the electric power industry. Both experimental and theoretical papers are acceptable provided they report important findings, novel insights, or useful techniques in…
Pedro P. B. Machado, Dorel S. Ramos, Gustavo C. Tenaglia, Julian D. Hunt
This paper presents a computational method to model and evaluate if Pumped Storage Plants (PSP) have the potential to reduce the intermittency of wind generation from different sites in Brazil and to improve the operation efficiency of hydroelectric plants wh…
Tafsir Abdoulaye Gaye, Biram Dieng, Senghane Mbodji, Ousmane Sow, Grégoire Sissoko
This paper dealt with the optimization of the performance of a photovoltaic mill system operating on the sun race. Depending on the characteristics of the powered load which is a DC motor driving a grain mill and on the weather conditions (temperature and ill…
S. Y. Fan, J. Liu, E. M. Bian, H. T. Xu, C. L. Kang
This paper introduces the characteristics of VSC and MMC-MTDC and discusses the effects of different kinds of faults in HVDC systems. Special attention is given to the comparison between a pole-to-pole fault and a pole-to-ground fault occurring in the middle…
Gang Liang, Shengwei Li, Yan Qi, Jing Cao, Yi Hao, Wenfu Chen
Reasonable probability assessment of transformer failure rate (FR) is a critical reference to the transformer replacement work. At present, the lack of support theory for transformer replacement usually causes reliability and economy issues for power companie…
Zipan Nie, Nigel Schofield
Different power electronic converter topologies are introduced in this paper for both Conventional Switched Reluctance Machine (CSRM) and Toroidal Switched Reluctance Machine (TSRM) drive systems. Their commutation, switch and diode currents, power losses, an…
Yicong Wang, Dejun Shao, Zhiqiang Zhang, Youping Xu, Xiaojie Pan, Haishun Sun
Inter-regional transmission line fault often results in power flow transferring, tie-line overloading and system islanding. Traditional control methods such asgenerator tripping and load shedding are costly, and also have undesirable impacts on theloadside. I…
Yonghwan Hwang, Wonkyu Moon
One performance measure of in-air ultrasonic radiators, such as wireless power transmission, is the power efficiency of the transducers. The efficiency of most in-air acoustic radiators is low, even at ultrasonic frequencies; however, a large radiating plate…
Jashandeep Singh, Yog Raj Sood, Piush Verma
The paper is based on the experimental investigation of accelerated stresses on insulation of power transformer. The effects of individual thermal and electrical stresses have been graphically presented. The factors accelerated thermal aging factor (ATAF) and…
Aiqiang Pan, Jian Zhou, Peng Zhang, Ronghui Liu, Yichao Wang
Aiming at the current limit value of six steady-state energy indexes, the current radar method is used for reference. A method of comprehensive evaluation of power quality based on improved radar method is proposed, which improves the power quality index Type…
Aiqiang Pan, Jian Zhou, Peng Zhang, Shunfu Lin, Jikai Tang
An effective power quality prediction for regional power grid can provide valuable references and contribute to the discovering and solving of power quality problems. So a predicting model for power quality steady state index based on chaotic theory and least…

EPE, a monthly journal, publishes research and review articles in all important aspects of electric power engineering and other professionals involved in the electric power industry. Both experimental and theoretical papers are acceptable provided they report important findings, novel insights, or useful techniques in… All articles are open access under a CC BY 4.0 licence, with authors retaining copyright.
Authors submit their manuscript, metadata, and declarations through the portal. There is no submission fee.
The editorial office screens the manuscript for scope, completeness, and formatting before assigning a handling editor.
At least two independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript under single-blind review. Where revisions are required, authors respond point by point.
On acceptance the article processing charge is invoiced and the CC BY 4.0 copyright handover is signed.
The article is copyedited, typeset, and given a DOI, then publishes open access with a permanent link.
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Submit in Microsoft Word or LaTeX with figures at 300 dpi minimum. Structure research articles as Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
Use the journal's numbered (Vancouver) reference style. Cite sources consecutively in the order they appear, and ensure every reference is complete and retrievable.
Declare all funding sources, conflicts of interest, and ethical approvals (including informed consent and animal-care statements where applicable).
