Three inexpensive and air-/moisture-stable Salen-Cu complexes 1-3 were evaluated to be a novel class of catalysts for the N -arylation of imidazoles with aryl halides. A variety of aryl iodides, bromides underwent the coupling with imida-zoles, promoted by th…
Pradipta Kumar Basu, Amrita Ghosh
A number of doubly-fused [1,2] naphthodifurans have been synthesized from the corresponding diallyl-dihydroxy naphthalene precursors involving N -iodosuccinimide in acetonitrile and also by molecular iodine in aqueous micelle using CTAB as surfactant. The ele…
Albert R. Matlin, Matthew C. Leyden
The intramolecular cyclization of 5-hexenyl radicals continues to be an important synthetic method for the construction of five-membered rings. The synthetic utility arises from the high degree of regioselectivity to give predominantly cyclopentyl products in…
Heli Kylmälä, Antti Neuvonen, Reija Jokela
Aldols from aliphatic aldehydes had been synthesized enantioselectively using Singh’s catalyst. Self and crossed aldol reactions with several linear aldehydes were performed.
